Cleaning from the top down
There's an expression that says, The landscape of the home is the landscape of the mind.

So this weekend we are clearing out the landscape of the home, starting with a good purge of the attic. I've already carried down three cardboard boxes and there are more to come today.

After the attic, I will attack my office ... getting rid of files from completed projects, divest myself of all those demands and scattered energy.

With any luck, the uncluttered home will lead to better mental focus. Or at least, fewer things to dust.

Autumn cleaning must be in the air. Already today I've tackled the main floor of our house and am about to move outside. Man, the leaves have been falling for months, but they really came down this past week. You could look out the window and see the cascade, like gazing out from behind a waterfall of red, yellow and brown. Happy cleaning!

Soon to be "new neighbor" sent an email asking that our bags of leaves be dumped in their yard! Miscommunication with the builder caused clearing of too many trees on their lot; the house sits on bare clay. I sent regrets as our leaves recycle and our house is the intruder.
